HEALTH CANADA COSMETIC INFORMATION

For ALL Current & Future “Cosmetic and/or Body Care” Members of Home Crafters of Cape Breton

As manufacturers of products defined by Health Canada as “cosmetic and/ or body care”, we advise that prior to approving any New or Renewed Membership with Home Crafters of Cape Breton, we require that you provide documentation confirming that Cosmetic Notification Forms (CNFs) have been submitted to Health Canada for any/all products classified as such that you intend to sell at any of our craft shows. Those craft shows are St Theresa’s Fair, The Big One at C200 and any other craft show we may sponsor during the year.

If you have gifted or sold any cosmetic you have manufactured, you would already have either a CNF number for each product OR a CNF Health Canada file submission number. Home Crafters requires a copy of one or the other in order to allow the sale of such items at our shows.

As manufacturers of cosmetics and body care products you would have kept yourself abreast of the specific regulations and guidelines regarding the ADVERTISING, SALE and LABELLING of the products you make.

It is your responsibly to ensure that you access all Health Canada links that pertain to the sale of your products to the public.

Home Crafters of Cape Breton reserves the right in the future to request any additional documentation/ confirmations or certifications it deems fit to protect the interest of both the organization and its customers.

We understand that this is an extremely stringent and costly process but if a Member intends to make such claims, it will not be permitted either verbally or on any signage or product labelling, unless copies of said certificates are on file with us and always displayed on your table at our sponsored craft shows.

If applying by mail, we also require that you sign and return to us, prior to any of our craft shows in which you wish to participate, our Cosmetic and Body Care Checklist. If applying online you will need to fill out the Cosmetic section and upload any necessary documents.
